Objectives of the RISE project
(1) Preparing and convening the Third International Conference in Hong Kong,
4th and 5th January 2010.
The first objective is preparing and convening in China an international conference on ethical, social and privacy implications of biometrics and security technology. The overall remit of the conference will be to enlarge to Asian and Pacific actors the international conversation of ethics and policy of biometrics and to look at various strategies for implementing large scale identification systems which are respectful of ethical and privacy principles.
(2) Preparing and Convening an EU Multi-Stakeholder Conference in Brussels,
9th and 10th December 2010.
The second objective is convening a European (transnational) multi-stakeholder conference. The overall remit of the meeting will be to advance and further promote stakeholder involvement ‐ including regulators, responsible agencies, lawmaking bodies, industry, third party privacy solutions providers and consumer representatives ‐ in setting technology security policy in Europe.
